Coordinator, La Clinica del Carino, Hood River, OR
DeSitter earned the trust and friendship of Latino farmworkers by showing them how to meet the health and housing needs encountered in this rural Oregon community with few resources. DeSitter involved his neighbors in successfully addressing the dangers of pesticide exposure, alcohol abuse, inadequate housing and discrimination.
