Volunteer Executive Director, Chicago Youth Programs Inc!, Chicago, IL
During his time as a medical student 14 years ago, DiCara's concern for families and children in dangerous housing projects drove him to create healthy, safe recreation and education alternatives for children and teens. Today over 450 volunteers run 37 programs, all with the goal of keeping children and teens off drugs, away from guns, out of gangs and the maternity ward, headed for healthy and productive futures.
